Mineral Foundation Wet or Dry
Lots of people would like to use mineral foundation. However, they do not want to forego the coverage that their current liquid foundation provides. They are not aware that you can use mineral foundation wet or dry. Both methods can yield many of the same positive results. You should know how to use mineral foundation wet and dry. This will give you the ability to get the best results for your skin on any given day.
You will always use the horsehair brush that came with the foundation to apply the foundation. You will always use the brush whether you are applying foundation wet or dry. Be sure that you keep the brush clean so that you can reuse it each day.
Dry mineral foundation provides light coverage. This does not mean that blemishes will be visible. The foundation will just feel quite light on your face. But you will be able to layer on mineral powder foundation to cover lines and irregularities.
Here are some positive effects of using mineral foundation as dry powder:
* It reflects light away from creases, lines and wrinkles. This minimizes evidence of aging. The mica flakes are slightly more effective dry rather than wet.
* It feels as if you have no makeup on. The powder will create a smooth, natural surface.
* You can safely sleep in dry mineral foundation. It is better to remove makeup if you have the option. Dry mineral foundation is less likely to block your pores overnight.
To apply mineral foundation dry, simply swirl the horsehair brush in the powder. Tap the excess powder foundation off the brush. Then apply the dry mineral foundation to your face in a circular, buffing motion. Keep applying layers until you have the look you want. The end result will be light, bright and natural. You will easily be able to apply other cosmetics over the mineral foundation.
Some people’s preference is to use mineral foundation wet. They feel that this provides more thorough coverage. Of course, this is largely a personal preference since mineral foundation covers evenly both ways. Wet mineral foundation gives people a more “made up” look that lots of people think is more glamorous. Of course this look may be less natural, but people think it looks more professional. Also, it provides a great palate for additional makeup. Apply mineral foundation wet by first dipping the brush in dry mineral powder. Tap the powder off the brush into your palm. Only get as much foundation as you need wet. Mix the foundation in your palm with a damp brush. This will let the liquid mineral foundation stick to the brush. Blend it in with brush and fingers.
In the end, it does not matter whether you wear your mineral foundation wet or dry. You will love the natural look when you wear your mineral foundation.
